The VP - Human Resources oversees, directs and provides strategic leadership for the University’s human resources function including, but not limited to, organizational development, employment practices, compensation administration, recruitment, performance management, training and employee development, benefits administration, employee relations, employee grievances and related investigations, and regulatory and institutional compliance. Oversees HR program planning and development, delivery of services, policy development and implementation, budget and staff administration.

Partners with members of the University to advance and build support for changes in and enhancements to human resources functions and related initiatives. Ensures HR functions, initiatives, activities, processes, policies, procedures and guidelines are implemented successfully and are aligned with the University’s mission, culture and strategic objectives.

The VP - Human Resources reports directly to the President. If working remotely, some travel would be required to campus locations and Milwaukee, WI - Home Office (approximately 20% travel).

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Highly organized and self-directed.
  • Able to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong performance in analytical, innovative, and critical thinking, strategy and collaboration.
  • Established experience designing and executing human resources programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of management principles, budgeting and applicable laws/regulations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience required.
  • PHR or SPHR strongly preferred (especially if no master’s degree).
  • Demonstrated increasing levels of talent and HR leadership
