My story
Meet Dandy Lion, a 43 pound, 1-year-old shepherd mix. Dandy was surrendered after giving birth to puppies only a week prior. The sad thing was the individual that surrendered her made no mention of puppies and most likely kept them and dumped Dandy. Upon vet inspection at the shelter, they discovered that she had just given birth and was able to give Dandy the care she needed. Dandy has since been spayed and has been living in a Texas shelter for the last few months. We’re hoping she has better luck up north here in Wisconsin and will find her forever home with a new, loving family. Dandy is so sweet & quiet, a little timid, but LOVES to nap in bed. She gets along with other dogs and has not been reactive to our cats. She knows very basic commands and walks well on a leash. We brought Dandy to a dog-friendly bar and she did well with the commotion. Dandy would make an excellent addition to any family but may need patience while she decompresses and gets comfortable in her new home.
